About Us
It all started in Michigan… the year was 1948. Edgar Buys, the first-generation owner, pioneered the way for more than 70 years in business. Then, in 1958, we packed up and made the move to Gainesville, our new home.
After some time spent on University Avenue growing our services in the Gainesville community, we made a second move onto Main Street, where we added a sales floor to the mix. We never looked back.
In 1994, we moved to the Gainesville Shopping Center on Main Street, where we added Martin’s Surplus Store, which Chris and Travis affectionately referred to as the mini Wal-Mart! But, after 42 years of renting space from others, we decided it was time to buy a permanent location.
In 1999, we moved to our current location: 1809 N. Main Street. Each time we moved in the past, we added something new to the business. We decided to keep with the tradition. Why not, right? We started renting out Budget trucks! As business grew and the Gainesville community continued to support us, we were able to later close the Budget Truck portion of the business so we could focus solely on appliances.
Our long history works for YOU! All the service and repair experience, all the sales experience… it helps us recommend the best appliances for you and your family!
